Scott enjoys working with clients of diverse struggles and backgrounds, from adults of all ages to adolescents and children. Through both a psychodynamic perspective and cognitive behavioral approach, his goal is to foster a safe environment of acceptance and depth through empathic dialogue.
Scott has experience working in a variety of mental health settings, where he developed a focus on trauma and relational dynamics. He has an extensive background in group therapies and is a Gottman-certified couples’ therapist. At Centennial, Scott collaborates with clients to develop strategies that create hope and healing in the short term and generate meaningful, lasting change in the long term.
Scott also works as a clinical supervisor to counselors-in-training at Northwestern University, his alma-mater. Prior to entering the mental health field, he enjoyed a decade-long career in journalism where he won multiple writing awards by The Associated Press and NLGJA. He currently writes feature stories for Counseling Today to bridge his past and present careers
