Kathy Buhrt, MA

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

Kathy’s passion for working with children and their families has been present for over 30 years. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College, then joined the Wheaton College Counseling Center, where she worked with both undergraduate and graduate students in therapy. After spending time at home helping her own children develop and grow, Kathy returned to work with a new direction for her passion: becoming an elementary school teacher. For the next 18 years, Kathy engaged in preschool education with students who struggled with cognitive, emotional, social, behavioral, and relational difficulties that inhibited their ability to be successful in school. Kathy enjoyed the opportunity to support these children and their families as they encountered physical difficulties, parental divorce, traumatic family situations, and stressors of limited financial resources.

Kathy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience working with children as she joins Centennial Counseling Center. She has worked with children daily each school year who struggled with ADHD, Autism, Major Depression, and Anxiety.
